The latest Wake Forest vs. NC State odds show the host Wolfpack as 17-point favorites. The over-under, or total number of points Vegas thinks will be scored, is 69. NC State can clinch its fifth winning season in a row, while Wake needs two victories to attain bowl eligibility. Before you make your Wake Forest vs. NC State picks, you need to hear what SportsLine college football expert Zack Cimini has to say.

Now, Cimini is locked in on NC State vs. Wake Forest and released a strong against the spread pick that you can only see at SportsLine.

Cimini knows the Wolfpack (6-2) bounced back from a two-game losing streak in which they allowed 92 points to Clemson and Syracuse by beating Florida State by 19 last Saturday. Offense is the strong suit of the Deacons, a unit that ranks 10th in the country at 323 yards passing per game. NC State faces a Wake Forest defense that is allowing 273 yards passing and 221 yards rushing per game — the Deacons rank 115th out of 130 FBS teams in each category.

There were high expectations on returning starting QB Ryan Finley, and the senior has reached them. He’s completed 67.8 percent of his passes for 16 TDs and six INTs; last year he completed 65 percent with 17 TDs. His offensive line has played lights-out because Finley has been sacked just four times all season.

But those imposing numbers don’t mean the Wolfpack can cover a two-touchdown-plus spread on Thursday.

Wake Forest’s offense can score on just about anyone with a balance that forces defenses to pick its poison. The Deacons average 229 yards passing and 224 yards rushing per game, ranking 31st in the nation in total offense. Take away a three-point output against mighty Clemson and Wake has averaged 36 points its other eight games.

A new QB will be leading the way on Thursday. True freshman Sam Hartman, who’s started every games so far, was lost for the season Saturday with a leg injury suffered last week against Syracuse. Sophomore Jamie Newman, who is 7 of 15 for 75 yards on the season, takes over.

Wake’s defense has struggled to stop opponents with regularity, but a key play can come from anywhere in a balanced unit that includes 12 players with a sack and eight with at least 38 tackles. Wake Forest is averaging 36 yards per INT return and has seven fumble recoveries.

We can tell you Cimini is leaning toward the under, but he has uncovered a crucial x-factor that will determine which side of the spread hits hard. He’s only sharing it over at SportsLine.

So which side of the spread should you back for Wake Forest vs. NC State, and which crucial x-factor determines the outcome? Visit SportsLine now to see which side you need to be all over, all from the expert who’s 9-1 on Wake Forest and NC State picks.

The Serie A and La Liga sides are the top two in Group F, with Milan entering the match with a two-point lead following wins over Olympiakos and F91 Dudelange. Milan is languishing in 12th in the Serie A table, though, and enters on the heels of a 1-0 loss to rival Inter Milan last weekend, so the pressure is on manager Gennaro Gattuso to right the ship for the Rossoneri.

The Gunners triumphed 1-0 at Sporting Lisbon to take control of their group while Chelsea outclassed Bate in a 3-1 win at Stamford Bridge. Ruben Loftus-Cheek bagged a hat-trick for the Blues who maintained their perfect record in Group L.

“This is an important victory for us, not just for the three points and to go top, but because it is prestigious after many years this team has not competed in Europe,” said Betis coach Quique Setien.Olympiakos are third in the group after a 2-0 win at Dudelange. Danny Welbeck scored the only goal of the game as Arsenal beat Sporting Lisbon to extend their winning streak to 11 games.

After a largely forgettable opening half, the Gunners gradually improved and took control of Group E with a 1-0 victory at the Estadio Jose Alvalade. Welbeck had already seen a header chalked off for a foul but he was on hand to steer home in the 77th minute to settle the contest in favour of Unai Emery’s side.FC Zurich came from behind to beat Bayer Leverkusen 3-2 and maintain their 100 per cent record in Group A.

Karim Bellarabi’s quickfire double for Leverkusen overturned Antonio Marchesano’s opening goal, but the Swiss side rallied and won it thanks to efforts from Toni Domgjoni and Stephen Odey.AEK Larnaca and Ludogrets drew the group’s other game 1-1.Salzburg and Leipzig are in a strong position in Group B. The Austrian side trounced Rosenborg 3-0 while Leipzig ran out 2-0 winners over Celtic, who were missing a string of stars through injury including Socceroo Tom Rogic.

Zenit St Petersburg scored an 85th-minute winner to beat Bordeaux and go top of Group C, ahead of Slavia Prague, who were 1-0 winners at FC Copenhagen. Dinamo Zagreb’s 2-1 win at Spartak Trnava preserved their 100 per cent record in Group D, with Anderlecht and Fenerbahce drawing 2-2 in the other game. Australian goalkeeper Danny Vukovic enjoyed a successful night when his Genk team beat hosts Besiktas 4-2 in Turkey, to go top of their group

In late matches, Dynamo Kyiv beat Rennes 2-1, Marseille went down 3-1 to Lazio at home, PAOK lost 2-0 to Videoton at home, Eintracht beat Apollon Limassol 2-0, Sarpsborg drew 1-1 with Malmo, Rangers were kept goalless at home by Spartak Moscow, Villarreal trounced Rapid Vienna 5-0 while Sevilla thumped Akhisar 6-0.

AC Milan host Real Betis at San Siro this evening as the Rossoneri look to continue their 100% start to their 2018/19 Europa League campaign. Milan defeated Luxembourg side Dudelange 1-0 away from home in their opener, winning 3-1 against Olympiakos in their most recent clash. Betis, on the other hand, defeated Dudelange 3-0 at home in the last-match day, drawing 0-0 in Greece with Olympiakos in their opener.

Milan come into the match fresh with disappointment after Sunday’s Milan derby in which Argentine forward Mauro Icardi scored a stoppage-time winner; after a momentary lapse in concentration from young Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma between the sticks. Before the match against Inter Milan, Rino Gattuso’s side had won three matches in-a-row, 3-1’s against Olympiakos and Chievo Verona, winning 4-1 away from home at Sassuolo.

Real Betis exceeded expectations last season to qualify for the Europa League but faced the departure of some key players over the summer, including Spanish playmaker Fabian Ruiz who moved to Milan’s divisional rivals Napoli. Betis are currently 11th in La Liga, with three wins, three draws and three defeats from their first nine league games.

Arsenal vs Sporting CP

The Gunners have been reborn under Unai Emery and are riding a 10-match win streak to the Estadio Jose Alvalade in Lisbon, Portugal, where Sporting have not been quite at their usual standard this season.

The Primeira Liga side are fifth in the domestic standings after losing two of their last three league games, leaving them four points from leaders Benfica.

Like Arsenal, though, their European record remains undented so far. However, while the Lions netted twice in their games against Qarabag and Vorskla, the Gunners almost doubled that tally with seven combined in their two group games.

Here, we provide all the essential live-stream and television information for Thursday’s Europa League clash, complete with a match preview and the latest odds.

The only previous meeting between these two sides came in the 1969-70 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup second round. Arsenal won 3-0 over two legs and went on to lift the trophy, but they won’t want to replicate the 0-0 stalemate they ran to in Lisbon that season.

Bertie Mee, Arsenal’s second-longest serving manager behind Arsene Wenger, was the club’s boss at that point and far more established than Emery, but the Spaniard has drummed up a lot of excitement early on in north London.

The most recent of their 10 consecutive wins came on Monday evening, when they beat Leicester City 3-1. In that trio of strikes was a team goal finished by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang that harked back to the Arsenal of old.

Portuguese football writer Tom Kundert felt a sense of dread on Sporting’s behalf after witnessing that finish:

Sporting can take some solace in the knowledge their only two losses this season have come away from home. They boast a perfect record at the Estadio Jose Alvalade this term and have failed to score in only one of their last 13 outings.

But Arsenal look a far classier outfit of late. Not since their opening-day defeat to Manchester City have they failed to score in a match, and they’ve conceded only three times in their last six games.

A panel of NBC pundits analysed Arsenal’s fast adjustment to life under Emery, which now appears to be getting the best out of players such as Alexandre Lacazette, Aubameyang and Mesut Ozil:

Ozil impressed in particular against Leicester and etched his name into the Premier League history books with his goal, posing bad omens for Sporting if they encounter him at his best:

Sporting’s situation is less positive. Following on from the player exodus in the summer caused by the reign of former club president Bruno de Carvalho, per Reuters, it’s been a tense fight for manager Jose Peseiro.

Winger Nani is the Lions’ top scorer in the league with three goals. Bas Dost is one of three players tied for second on two goals, despite the fact he’s been injured since August and won’t be back in time to face Arsenal, according to Kundert:

Whatever Emery has done to Arsenal of late seems to be working, and the confidence running through the Premier League side should be sufficient to see off a Sporting team that’s in a more intense state of flux.

Chelsea vs BATE Borisov

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri could opt to rotate his options with his side in a superior position, but the visitors are aware a slip at the Borisov Arena could complicate their path to the knockouts. Sarri has quickly imposed his style on Chelsea since arriving from Italy, and the Blues have developed into a team that attack with intent.

Eden Hazard has been the star of the show for the former Napoli boss since the start of the campaign, but Sarri has empowered many in his selection.

BATE gave a good account of themselves at Stamford Bridge in the corresponding fixture, but a hat-trick from Ruben Loftus-Cheek secured the points for the west London side.

The Belarusian team are running away with their domestic league and are 14 points clear of the chasing pack. This advantage could aid them as they rest and rotate in an attempt to reach the round of 32.

The gulf in class is obvious, but BATE will be hoping their illustrious opponents suffer a bad day at the office on their travels.

Hazard has been recovering from injury, and despite being fully fit, his manager has broken him back into the team slowly from the substitutes bench.

According to Simon Johnson of the London Evening Standard, the Belgian superstar could be given the night off, with Sarri allowing Hazard further time to recover from a back issue.

Loftus-Cheek has struggled to make the starting XI in the Premier League, but his European performances could see him given a vital role in Belarus.

The England international has started twice in the Europa League this term, and the 22-year-old desperately needs playing time after a successful loan spell at Crystal Palace last term.

Vaishali Bhardwaj of the London Evening Standard highlighted the player’s performance against BATE in October.

Chelsea should breeze through this encounter, allowing Sarri a chance to throw fresh faces into his selection. But with the teams below the Blues all level on points, BATE will be intent on finding a big performance against the English giants.
